7-Eleven, Energy Drink Brands Stage Promotions
7-Eleven is teaming with energy drink manufacturers Red Bull GmbH and Monster Energy Corp. on a pair of video game-related promotions.
Leveraging the buzz surrounding Activision's Oct. 12 release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the convenience store chain is promising 7Rewards loyalty members who purchase two eligible Monster Energy SKUs a bonus "in-game calling card" and codes used to level up and unlock items in the game faster. Codes are sent via email after purchase. Oct. 15 Facebook and Twitter updates, an ad within the retailer's mobile application, and an in-store cooler cling tout the offer, which has an unclear end date.
The retailer is also teaming with Red Bull to stage a sweepstakes awarding a trip to the Red Bull Conquest Finals in Washington, D.C., Nov. 16-17, 30 PlayStation 4 Pro video game consoles from Sony, 100 pieces of Red Bull Conquest merchandise and 500 one-month subscriptions to live streaming video platform Twitch. 7Rewards members enter by purchasing two Red Bull 12-ounce cans from Aug. 29 through Oct. 31. An ad within the retailer's mobile app and an in-store cooler cling spotlight the sweeps.
