Whole Foods Drinks in Spring
Whole Foods Market is spotlighting rose wine this spring with a two-month sale.
A dozen varieties chosen by Whole Foods master sommelier and global beverage buyer Devon Broglie are priced between $7.99 and $34.99 from April 4 to May 29. Whole Foods will mark the designation of May 25 as "National Drink Wine Day" by offering 20% off all rose wines that day. The retailer is also adding several new varieties of rose wine to its shelves during the campaign.
“The popularity of rose wines has never been higher, and our team worked to curate a really interesting and diverse selection for our shoppers to sample,” Broglie said in a media release.
Whole Foods introduced the sale with a March 31 post from Broglie in the Whole Story blog. A concurrent post shared five recipes for rose sangria provided by food bloggers including Kaleigh McMordie of Lively Table and Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest. Display ads on wholefoodsmarket.com and other websites including today.com, Facebook and Twitter updates, and an ad in an April 5 email support the sale.
Whole Foods plugged rose wines last year by marking the observance of June 10 as "National Rose Day."
