Walgreens, Hallmark Thank and Reward 'Loyal Customers'
Walgreens and Hallmark in November revisited a tactic they’ve used over the last few years, sending a personalized greeting card via traditional mail to consumers who’ve previously purchased the manufacturer’s greeting cards at the chain.
This time using a Thanksgiving theme, the card – from “Emily, Greeting Card Buyer, Walgreens” – thanked the consumer “for buying your Hallmark cards in our stores” and presented “two offers we think you’ll enjoy.”
A two-sided promotional card affixed to the greeting card with an adhesive promoted offers of 5,000 Balance Rewards points with purchase of three qualifying Hallmark cards on one side, and $1 off the purchase of any Hallmark gift wrap item on the other. (The card served as a coupon redeemable in stores.) Both offers are valid through Jan. 5, 2019.
Walgreens and Hallmark similarly partnered to send thank-you cards via the United States Postal Service in July 2015, as well as thank-you emails in July 2017.
