Pizza Hut NFL Campaign
Pizza Hut kicked off its new sponsorship of the NFL with a social campaign starring Pittsburgh Steeler JuJu Smith-Schuster, who appears in a YouTube spot performing his “Doorbell Dance” and various celebratory “touchdown” dances in the living room for when the pizza arrives. Consumers were asked to post videos of their own dances on Instagram for a chance to win a trip to an NFL game of their choice. The campaign was promoted over the chain’s and NFL’s social networks. Smith-Schuster reported live on social media (dressed in a Pizza Hut-branded pizza suit) from the red carpet during the NFL draft, and Pizza Hut celebrated with an in-store meal special during draft week. It’s the first marketing as part of Pizza Hut’s new multi-year agreement with the NFL, replacing competitor Papa John’s.
