Pinterest Shopping Ads
Per a recent blog post on its company website, Pinterest is expanding its Shopping Ads from testing with “a couple dozen retailers” to “hundreds of businesses.” The feature enables visuals in a pin on a brand or retailer’s page to be tagged and clicked on, directing a user to buy online. The pins also give brands and retailers the ability to display multiple visual angles of a product. Early testers of the shoppable ads included Ulta Beauty, Lowe’s, Wayfair, IKEA Canada, eBay and Overstock. In the blog post, Pinterest cited a GfK study that said 90% of Pinners make purchase decisions on the platform and 70% look to Pinterest for new products to buy.
