Home Depot Expands Exclusive PPG

The Home Depot has expanded its exclusive PPG Timeless line from PPG Industries to include paint.Formerly comprising only wood stain SKUs, PPG Timeless now encompasses interior and exterior paint with primer in some 1,000 colors. The line's exterior paint boasts ultraviolet and gloss-retention technology that prevents color fading while the brand's interior paint promises a wear-resistant finish for "outstanding washability, scrubbability and stain resistance," according to a media release from PPG. The paint rolled out to Home Depot stores and homedepot.com in August. In stores, stanchion signs and endcaps outfitted in bold signage spotlight the paint under a “toughest, wear-resistant paint” message. A feature in the retailer’s Aug. 31 circular, an Aug. 15 Twitter update from Home Depot, Facebook and Twitter updates from PPG, a promotional page (diy.ppg.com) and in-store in-line displays support. PPG Industries first launched PPG Timeless in April as a wood stain line. It is the manufacturer's first paint and stain product to prominently carry the PPG name in a major home improvement center, according to PPG. “Trust is important in any lasting relationship, especially when you’re selecting paint to protect your biggest investment: your home,” Sara Braun, PPG's marketing director, said in the release. “PPG coatings are not only trusted on airplanes, cars, consumer electronics, submarines and space shuttles in the harshest conditions, they also have been trusted by professional painters for more than 130 years … With PPG Timeless paint, DIYers can feel confident that they can get the same professional-quality results quickly and easily.”
