H-E-B Hires Tech Exec to Lead Digital Product Strategy

H-E-B named Mike Georgoff to the newly created role of chief product officer of H-E-B Digital.Georgoff is tasked with leading H-E-B’s digital product strategy, design and development as well as recruiting top talent across areas of expertise and helping drive the grocer’s continued omnichannel growth. He will report to H-E-B’s chief digital officer Jag Bath.“This is an industry-leading company that is strategically positioned to deliver a cutting-edge digital experience to customers,” Georgoff said in a media release. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to join such a talented team focused on bringing innovation, growth and success to H-E-B.”Most recently, Georgoff served as the cpo of Austin-based digital marketing firm Main Street Hub, which was acquired by GoDaddy earlier this year. He also has held prominent roles at RetailMeNot and Redbox, helping propel each from early-stage businesses to public companies valued at more than $1 billion, according to the aforementioned release."[Georgoff] is a highly respected veteran of product development in the digital space and someone with his expertise strengthens our commitment to building out H-E-B’s omnichannel services,” Bath said in the release. “He has a proven track record leading successful product and design teams, which puts him in a position to help us build the ultimate digital experience for our customers to go along with the unparalleled service of our world-class stores.”The appointment is the latest in a series of strategic technology investments H-E-B has made to enhance its digital offerings and stay competitive, including the recent acquisition of on-demand delivery service Favor, the H-E-B Go mobile checkout application pilot and the continued rollout of H-E-B delivery and H-E-B curbside, which are both available in more than 100 locations across Texas and on track to reach 165 stores in 2018.
