Edgewell, Walgreens Go 'Universal' Again
Edgewell Personal Care brought an exclusive sweepstakes and instant-win game to Walgreens for the second straight year, once again dangling a grand-prize trip for four to Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, FL.
The primary differences in the 2018 program are the purchase requirement for entry and the method of entry. This year, Walgreens or Duane Reade shoppers who purchase two qualifying Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic products must submit an image of their receipt via text message or upload it to sunfundone.com, an Edgewell promotional website.
Playing a digital scratch-and-win game secures entry into the sweeps, and the game also awards instant-win prizes comprising $15 debit cards to 100 winners, $10 "Gas Cash" cards to 400 others, and $5 Walgreens gift cards to 5,000 winners.
This year's promotion runs May 6 through June 30 and is administered by TPG Rewards, New York. Walgreens is offering loyalty cardholders a "buy one, get one half off" deal on eligible products throughout the eight-week time frame.
The retailer has promoted the sweeps with a May 13 circular feature and ads in its May and June coupon books, as well as with dump tables showcasing the theme park that are positioned in the center aisles in stores.
In 2017, shoppers who purchased one product received an entry code (via Catalina's checkout system) to be entered on the promotional site. In 2016, Edgewell partnered with Walgreens and The Lego Group for a five-week Banana Boat purchase incentive promising free tickets to any Legoland Resort or Discovery Center.
