Ryan Scott, High Point, North Carolina, has increased warehouse and distribution capacity thanks to a two-year effort that nearly quadrupled its operating space. The company works across roughly 85,000 square feet total in two locations located exactly one mile apart. It also hired seven employees over nine months for various roles including project management, engineering and warehouse/logistics.

RevTrax Partners With Cornell and UC-San Diego

New York-based RevTrax has collaborated with marketing researchers from Cornell University and the University of California-San Diego to conduct proprietary, multivariate studies testing the effects of promotional offers on the purchasing decisions of consumers for RevTrax brand partners. The studies are centered on behavioral economics, which refers to the discipline of applying cognitive psychology to the traditional models of economic decision-making.

IRI Expands E-Commerce Suite

Chicago-based IRI expanded its E-Commerce Solutions Suite with the addition of the IRI E-POS Measurement Solution platform, which offers clients a granular look into categories, brands, individual items at the UPC level and weekly data on e-commerce purchases based on actual POS data from individual retailers at scale. The platform will aggregate online POS data from a group of large grocery, drug, mass merchandise and club store retailers as well as leading online pure play retailers.

Menasha Acquires ARI Packaging

Menasha Corp., Neenah, Wisconsin, acquired ARI Packaging of Alsip, Illinois. The ARI business will operate as part of Menasha Corp. subsidiary Menasha Packaging. ARI Packaging is a supplier of contract packaging and fulfillment services for CPG merchandising packaging and displays. “We’re excited to have ARI Packaging on our team, and we welcome the expanded services we can offer customers, particularly in the e-commerce arena,” Menasha Packaging president Mike Waite said in a media release.

Triad Retail Media Replaces CEO

Triad Retail Media promoted global chief customer officer Sherry Smith to the role of chief executive officer. She succeeds Roger Berdusco, who is leaving the company after 11 years to pursue new opportunities. Smith will be responsible for continuing Triad's growth and managing operations and finances for the 500-person company. In her previous position, Smith oversaw the agency's client services, working with retailers including Sam's Club, CVS/pharmacy, Dollar General and Kohl's to provide sales, creative, content, operations and analytics solutions.

Toys “R” Us Canada Picks Cineplex Digital Media

Toys “R” Us Canada selected Toronto-based Cineplex Digital Media to install an in-store digital signage and kiosk network for a new Toys “R” Us concept store in Langley, British Columbia. The retailer will deploy an endless aisle solution where consumers can use the kiosks to browse comprehensive information on not only in-stock items, but the brand’s entire offering for in-store purchase or home delivery. The installation includes a large feature wall with 2x2 55-inch LCD screens, six 18.5-inch digital endcaps and four POS integrated kiosks.

Woodman’s Joins Healthy Savings Network

Woodman’s Food Markets, Janesville, Wisconsin, joined the Healthy Savings grocery network. The network provides employees of participating companies and those on qualifying health care plans with discounts on a rotating selection of foods from more than 200 brands. Consumers shop for eligible items at participating grocery stores, scan a bar code at checkout and receive instant savings.

POP Displays Aligns With Moblty

POP Displays, Yonkers, New York, formed an alliance with New York-based Moblty to draw on the latter’s digital shopper expertise. Partnering with Moblty will allow POP Displays to expand its scope in technology to develop more innovative solutions for brands such as L’Oreal and retailers such as CVS/pharmacy. “Moblty truly uses digital technology in unique ways to enhance the shopper experience,” POP Displays senior vice president Larry Alper said in a media release. “This is a perfect fit for our focus on consumer engagement.”

InContext Announces VR Headset Offering

InContext Solutions, Chicago, is integrating virtual reality headsets into ShopperMX, its flagship, proprietary enterprise software-as-a-service VR platform. By incorporating head-mounted displays such as the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, retailers and brands can enhance the way they present and collaborate on new retail concepts through the ShopperMX HIVE, or Hi-Immersion Virtual Experience. “This first-of-a-kind capability opens a brand new door to retail innovation and disruption,” InContext Solutions CEO Mark Hardy said in a media release.

Valassis to Acquire MaxPoint

Valassis, Livonia, Michigan, reached an agreement through parent company Harland Clarke Holdings to acquire MaxPoint, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based digital marketing technology company. MaxPoint’s client base complements Valassis’ advertiser clients and adds penetration into industry verticals such as financial services, healthcare and automotive. Valassis’ leadership envisions using MaxPoint’s location-powered technology to help delivery of print and digital advertising campaigns across multiple devices, with relevance to the same consumer.
