Ahold Vet Erik Keptner Named Wakefern Marketing SVP
The ShopRite-Wakefern Food Corp. family this week named supermarket veteran Erik Keptner senior vice president of marketing.
Keptner will be responsible for developing marketing and merchandising strategies that build upon Wakefern's history of successful retail brands. He will oversee the company's digital commerce and analytics, advertising, corporate merchandising, private label, and social media and digital advertising divisions. Keptner will report directly to Wakefern executive vp Chris Lane.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Keptner most recently worked as senior vp of sales, merchandising and marketing for Ahold Delhaize's Giant-Carlisle division. Before taking over that role in 2014, he was evp of marketing for Ahold USA. He also served as Ahold's svp of marketing and consumer insight from 2009 to 2012, and as Giant-Carlisle's svp of marketing and communication.
"[Keptner] came up in the grocery business at a pivotal time for the industry, and throughout his career has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to implementing consumer centric marketing and merchandising strategies," Lane said in a media release. "He's a proven leader, and we are very excited to welcome him to the Wakefern team."
